Nepal Tour

4 days and 3 days Lumbini Buddhist Pilgrimage Tour (LUMB4-N):

The Buddhist pilgrimage site 'Lumbini' situated at south of Nepal in Kapilvastu District. It is about 300 km far from Kathmandu and 195 km from Pokhara. Where Queen Maya Devi gave birth to Siddhartha Gautam in 623 BC. is the founder of Buddhism. The sacred garden, spread over 8 sq. km. where you can visit Maya Devi Temple, Ashoka Pillar, Puskarni Pond, Monastries etc.
Mayadevi temple is the famous temple in Lumbini, where Siddhartha Gautam was born. In the west of this Temple, there is Ashoka Pillar which was erected by Emperor Ashoka in 249 BC to preserve his pilgrimage to the sacred site. The inscription on it is in Brahmi script that proves Lumbini as the birth place of Buddha. Before enlightened, he was Shakya prince of Kapilvastu.
Near of the Mayadevi Temple, Puskarni (Holy Pond) is situated where Maya Devi had taken a holy bath in Pushkarni before giving birth to Buddha. Even the baby Siddhartha was given his first purification bath in the pond.
The village of Tilaurakot is about 30km east of Lumbini. It is believed to have been the location of the Kapilvastu royal palace where the Buddha grew up as the Shakya dynasty prince until the age of 29. Moreover, many countries such as Japan, China, India, Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam, France and Germany are constructing monasteries and meditation centers around the sacred garden.
